Frequently Asked Questions
Financial coaching is not a way to get rich quick or obtain financial freedom quickly. The road to financial freedom is 80% behavior and 20% head knowledge. Your financial coach will walk alongside you on your financial journey and help you link your behaviors to your financial goals. It is important for you to understand which behaviors will allow you to meet your financial goals the quickest. Through personalized one-on-one coaching sessions, E3 Financial Coaching can provide you with support, encouragement and accountability to help you meet your financial goals.
The simple answer is so you have someone in your corner that has the experience and knowledge to help you win financially. A financial coach is similar to using a personal trainer or sports coach. In each of these cases the coach uses his/her experience and knowledge to help you reach your goals quickly and efficiently. Our financial coaches are here to help ENLIGHTEN, EQUIP and EMPOWER you on your financial journey. We will help you build a financial plan, eliminate debt, build savings (kids college, cars, etc), plan for retirement and reach whatever other financial goals you may have. The end result will be a step-by-step plan to help you reach those goals in the most efficient and sustainable way possible.
Financial coaching is not just for people that are struggling to pay their bills. Our financial coaches have been trained to handle a wide variety of financial situations. Maybe you need help with defining and sticking to a budget. Or you need help building wealth or starting your small business. Even if you just have some general questions about money management, financial coaching could be right for you. Our financial coaches will offer detailed advice and a specific plan to make your money work for you!
E3 Financial coaches do not work for Dave Ramsey but all our financial coaches are Ramsey Solutions Master Financial Coaches. Our financial coaches have attended and completed Ramsey Solutions Financial Coach Master Training. This distinction gives special access to resources and staff at Dave Ramsey Solutions. Access to these resources and staff ensure our financial coaches can provide high quality services to every client.
E3 Financial Coaching teaches the same principals and has always been a huge fan of Dave Ramsey. The co-founders started their journey to financial peace by listening, reading and taking the Financial Peace University Home study course. Since then they have facilitated numerous FPU classes, provided financial coaching and graduated from Dave Ramsey’s Financial Coaching Masters Training course.
You will be asked to provide some preliminary information to your financial coach. We ask the forms be filled out and returned 2 days prior to you scheduling your appointment. This information allows your financial coach to be fully prepared for your session and ensures you get the maximum value out of your time investment. After submitting your personal financial snapshot you will be given a link to schedule your coaching session online.
Each financial coaching session is perfectly designed to assist you on your journey to financial stability and financial freedom. At the beginning of the first coaching session we will ask questions based on the preliminary forms you provide and simply listen to find out what your financial status and goals are. We will quickly get into the practical portion of the session where we will discuss development areas we need to focus on to help you achieve your goals. We will then wrap up the first coaching session by reviewing what we’ve learned. Your financial coach will email a recommendation within 24 hours of your session which contains action steps and resources.
Subsequent financial coaching sessions will address the items you desire to focus on, review the action steps from your previous financial coaching sessions and work on the next development areas in your personalized financial plan.
Our policy requires both spouses to attend the financial coaching session. From experience, we’ve learned that coaching only one spouse does not work. This must be a team effort. If your spouse is not onboard, sit down with them in a non-distracting environment and communicate how much you want them to participate in the finances. Do not let this be a time to nag, yell, scream, etc. Tell them that attending financial coaching, or even Financial Peace University, can be your Christmas, birthday or anniversary gift this year.
